Judgment begins where information ends.
It is tempting to think that judgement grows with experience.
That every decision, every mistake, every pattern we encounter
adds to a store we can draw from later.
It feels true. It feels earned.
It is not how judgement works.
Judgement is not a library. It is a calibration.
It is the quiet, ongoing adjustment of how we see.
Not more knowledge, but clearer signal.
The experienced person is not the one who has seen more.
It is the one who has learned how to see what matters.
To ignore what does not.
To recognise the moment the context has changed.
Patterns repeat.
But never exactly.
Judgement is the ability to hold the pattern
lightly enough to let the differences in.
When judgement is strong,
decisions feel simple.
Not because the world is obvious,
but because the mind is aligned.
Judgement does not remove uncertainty.
It reduces the noise around it.
It does not guarantee the right call.
It increases the odds.
The goal is not perfect judgement.
The goal is well-calibrated judgement.
